Nova Scotia Trip

I've been back home for a couple of weeks but had to travel then got busy with work.  I had posted several pictures on Facebook but wanted to spend a bit more time processing some of them.  The trip home was great, it was Dad's 90th birthday and we had a party for him.  I got to spend lots of time with family as well.

This little stream was just off the trail close to my parents place.

We also took a couple of trips, Dad and I went to Fisherman's Reserve, just a little ways past Lawrencetown Beach.  I remember we used to go there we we were younger just for a drive.

My sister's and  I, along with my niece Megan, took a road trip to the Valley.  I had been to Hall's Harbour on a previous visit and wanted to go back, and also take a trip to Blomidon.   On the way to Blomidon, we past by this fishing pier.  It was the peak of the day, probably the worst time to take a picutre, but the tide was pretty much at it's lowest so it kind of illustrates that.  The tides here in this part of the Bay of Fundy are easily 35 ft high, and maybe a bit higher.

So we made it on to Blomidon, I guess on the way we stopped at the winery and the cheese place, good thing as we got to walk all that off on the beach (mud flats?) at the provincial park.  Its a pretty amazing place and it cool at low tide but when the tide starts rolling in (literally) its time get get off the beach.

We kept on our way, stopping at the lookoff then eventually to Hall's Harbor and lunch.  The tide in Halls Harbor is up to 45 ft I believe, but was already well on its way in.  We ate lunch at a resturaunt just to the left of this picture, so it kind of illustrates the view we had while eating fresh seafood on the deck, under an umbrella, with a cold beer in the hand, listening to the accents of the tourists trying to figure out what countries they may be from.

I have other pictures of the trip, the canoe races on Lake Banook, Downtown Halifax, the Titanic graves, but like I said several of them are already on Facebook.
